Ever since the Sports Center was put into operation, in order to respond to national policies and promote prosperous development of nationwide fitness campaign, it has actively carried out many people-benefiting activities to attract citizens into stadiums to participate in physical exercises. The Sports Center accommodated a total number of 250,000 people in 2015.

       It is reported that 100% of the Stadium, Gymnasium, Tennis Center, Natatorium, Baseball Field, and the ComprehensiveTraining Hall in the Sports Center are open to the public, where football, basketball, tennis, baseball, swimming , badminton and table tennis are available for public use. The Sports Center is opening formore than 50 hours per week, and more than 330 days all around the year, no less than 8 hours during public holidays, legal holidays and school vacations,  the opening rate is almost 100%.

       Moreover, the Sports Center has promoted the program of “Free Experience on Wednesday” continuously for three years, i.e. citizens can experience football, basketball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, etc., on Wednesday as long as they have made reservations in advance by phone calls. It has also launched the “Thematic Open Day” activity, i.e. the center is open to citizens for free or at a low price on Women’s Day, May Day, Children’s Day, and the National Fitness Day (August 8th). It has also invited professional tennis trainers to offer free training courses to elementary school students living in the vicinity.

       The most popular people-benefiting event carried out by the SportsCenter is Dalian Sports Festival. The large-scale public benefit event which sponsored by the Sports Center continuously for two years. During the event, sports fans across the city gathered in the Sports Center to enjoy the indispensable activities of the event that have long been familiar to the citizens, including the Passionate Experience in Thematic Halls, the Sports Carnival, the Square Dance Showcase, and theCheering Up for Dalian Football Team. Nowadays, Dalian Sports Festival has become a popular urban festival for Dalian citizens.

       In the new year, the Sports Center will carefully summarizing the successful experience of nationwide fitness campaign and further implementing the relevant policies, it will come up with more sports activities for citizens and create more fitness platforms for the convenience, interest and benefit of people, and make an effort to further push forward fitness campaign, promote sports culture and develop sports industry.
