From Competition Supervisor Wang Jiguang with General Administration of Sport of China Network Management Center Competition Division:

Dalian Sports Center Has Fully Shown Maturity

By Zhang Jian from Dalian Daily

Wang Jiguang, Competition Supervisor of General Administration of Sport of China Network Management Center Competition Division who are just attending the  nationwide teenager tennis qualifying in Dalian, has all sorts of feelings for days. Two years ago, he attended the national games at Dalian Sports Center which was newly established then. Rather than becoming an “idle venue after the completion of megagame”, the sports center’s Tebon Securities Tennis Center nowadays boasts brand-new facility, fully-equipped support facility and more humanized service, which is out of his expectation. He also expects that Dalian 2015 International Women’s Tennis Open (WTA series) held on 7th September this year will add more glories and honors to the venue’s history of holding international top-level contest.

There is no lack of first-class hardware facility in China, but service is the key.
With regard to Chinese stadium with first-class facility, Wang Jiguang can speak on this subject with great familiarity. Indeed, his work is to attend tennis game around China, so he is very familiar with each stadium being able to hold megagame. It is exactly because of this that he may incisively point out the universal problems existing in current Chinese tennis halls: there is no lack of first-class hardware facility, but software service is the key.
At present, many Chinese cities are in the primary stage of venue construction. Their construction is in high standard and high starting point that enables them to set up first-class stadiums domestically or even internationally. From a hardware point of view, their stadiums are fully capable of holding domestic and international megagames, but some stadiums have gradually fall into disuse as a result of less usage and negligence on maintenance and management after one-time megagame. Besides,  due to lack of enthusiasm and experience in later-stage operation, some stadiums equipped third-class service first-class facility, which is hard for them to hold high-end competition.

“The Unconventionality” of Dalian Sports Center perfects the stadium after megagame.
Does not take the usual way.In his view, Dalian Sports Center enjoys brighter environment and more sophisticated service compared with two years ago, instead of falling into disuse.
The newly-added relaxation lobby, accommodation only step away from the stadium, personalized service rendering anytime... Wang compares the changes happened on Tebon Securities Tennis Center with what was on two years ago, what he has seen merrily is not decadence but vigor and perfection.
“Just like the nationwide teenager tennis qualifying going on these days, it is not team competition but individual event, as each contestant may be replaced and leave the venue any time, which demands organizers sound coordination and coping capacity for emergencies.”, says Wang. He also believes that Dalian attaches great importance to details of service which brings more warmth to contestants, coaches and referees, and you can confirm this from contestant’s feed-back.

“WTA” is not only a quiz but also an opportunity to win international fame.
As a witness for the large-scale contest held at Tebon Securities Tennis Center, Wang has a special feeling for it. Especially when knowing that Dalian 2015 International Women’s Tennis Open will be held at here soon by WTA (Women’s Tennis Association), General Administration of Sport of China, National Tennis Administration Center, Dalian Sports Bureau, and Dalian Xinghai Development, Construction and Management Center, he says that this is not only a test for managers at sports center and managers of the city, but also a perfect chance to make urban marketing. After all, this contest is a constituent part of WTA, a top global level event, and all best tennis players ranking top 200 globally will come here. So how to make tennis players from all over the world love this city? How to enhance the influence of Dalian at home and abroad? It is worthy of careful thinking. He also wish managers of the stadium will be able to walk out and to draw lessons of stadium’s operations management from other countries or cities, making continuous perfection on details of service.
Wang Jiguang expects Dalian will be able to hold more top international-level contests in the future and bring more glories to the city.
