The lawn in the stadium needs to be mowed every 3 days and watered daily.

Before the concert, the working stuff is still busy with preparation.

When the Eason Chan Concert at the beginning of the month comes to mind, Hu Qingqing, one of the Dalian People, is still excited about it. This was the first time for her to see a concert in the City Sports Center and it was the most exciting one she has ever seen. It is not only because the effect and the atmosphere at the scene were wonderful, but also our city has such a stadium to show and boost. As a matter of fact, after looking at the magnificent City Sports Center, the heart of many Dalian People is filled with pride. Everyone felt so happy especially when the City Sports Center began to be open to the public.

1. Great sports events and performances happen every week.

“It is so unbelievable that the stadium is so magnificent and the sound effect is so great!” one of the spectators said. At the Eason Chan Concert, besides the local Dalian People, many fervent spectators came from all the corners of China. When they enjoyed the great performance of the star, they were also impressed by the City Sports Center of Dalian.

Since the National Games came to an end last year, the City Sports Center began to be open to the public. It has been holding a lot of performances and sports events which are much welcomed by the residents and spectators. Starting from this year, many famous sports events were seen by turns in the City Sports Center, such as World Boxing Championship, Super League organized by China PingAn Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd., Lightning Bicycle League in Three Northeastern Provinces of China and so on. Besides the big performances like the dance drama Thousands Hands Guanyin and the large-scale folk dance Charm and Sentiment of Four Seasons, many popular stars like Jonathan Lee, Jay Chou, Gloria Tang, Eason Chan have all held a concert this year. So far according to statistics, the number of sports events and performances held this year in the City Sports Center has reached to almost 30. Except for the period of Spring Festival, great sports events or wonderful performances happen every week. It emerged that now the City Sports Center is preparing for the Audi Professional Twin-Cup, which will be held worldwide. The national champion of each country will have the opportunity to participate the World Finals. The City Sports Center will continue to introduce international sports events and performances. By the end of the year, at least 4 big international performances will be held.

2. A good place for the residents to take exercises

“The facilities here are very professional.” said Liu Yong, one of swimming enthusiasts, who expressed the voice of many residents. Even though having been to many natatoriums, he showed special preference to the one of the City Sports Center. In his words, “The quality of water is very good and the swimming pool is very professional.” The first sports event after the completion of the City Sport Center was the Twelfth National Games. The stadium facilities were unanimously regarded as the international advanced level by the players, coaches and referees. The water quality of the natatorium got approved by many professionals as good as drinking water. Besides the wading pool where the shallowest end is 1.5m, there is also the race pool as deep as 3 meters. After the sports event, what was favored by the residents is that all of the stadiums were open to the public, including the natatorium, the baseball field, the tennis field and other stadiums. The most exciting activity, which is called Free Experience Days, is held every Wednesday and attracts many residents. For the convenience of the residents, the City Sports Center also provides year card and the card which counts the number of times. For now, the most favorite one for the public is the natatorium where almost 900 people come everyday.

3. Dalian skyrockets in the market of domestic performances

“When you come to Dalian, the City Sports Center must be taken as scenery.” When it comes to holiday season, the City Sports Center has become a new landmark of Dalian and a new place for the local people to entertain their guests. Li Xi, a tourist from Heilongjiang Province, is familiar with Dalian. He can remember every site of the sceneries and the most important purpose of his trip is to enjoy the view of the City Sports Center. He said, “This is so beautiful! I really hope I could play basketball here and see a concert!” He is moved by the magnificent City Sports Center and hope to enjoy the atmosphere in this international-class stadium.

Industry insiders said that according to the market pattern of domestic and foreign performances, some stars place great demands on performance venues, facilities and services and they only put on performances in few cities of China. However, the function of the City Sports Center helps Dalian become one of the nationwide first-tier cities of cultural performances. In the future, it will become another shiny new card for Dalian to hold sports events and cultural performances. What intrigues the most sincere feelings of the visitors when they come to the City Sports Center for the first time are the magnificent style, beautiful design, advanced facilities and customized services. This international stadium, which has been open to the public since last year, is helping people get a better perception of themselves through superior sports events and cultural performances. On the other hand, it also provides more opportunities for the local people to enjoy more fun from doing exercises.
