The Water Treatment System for the Swimming Gym of Dalian Sports Center is Leading in the World
——The Best Choice for City Residents to Swim for Fitness
In hot summer, swimming is the sport of first choice for people to evade summer heat and exercise. With such phenomenon as “putting dumplings in pot” appearing in swimming gyms, the health problem is increasingly becoming a common concern of people. Recently, the Municipal Health and Birth Control Committee has done onsite sampling and laboratory testing to 7 health indicators in 72 swimming places now under operation in Dalian, in which 15 unsatisfactory swimming places have been found, out of which 6 exceeded the standard for water urea value, 6 exceeded the standard for total number of bacteria in water and 8 exceeded the standard for coliform group in water.
After successfully undertaking the formal water ballet event in the 12th National Sports Meet in last August, the Swimming Gym of the Sports Center was open formally to the city residents on Jan. 8 this year. Since opening, the Swimming Gym has been strictly following the requirements of Hygienic Standard for Swimming Place (GB9667-1996) and tests the water quality every 2 hours. As tested by Dalian Disease Prevention and Control Center, the water urea value in our Swimming Gym is <3.0mg/l, the total number of bacteria in water is <1cfu/ml and the coliform group in water is <3mpn/l, all of which are less than the maximum values in the standard ranges. At the same time, the Swimming Gym strictly observes all health management and supervision systems by taking perfect sterilizing measures and maintaining good ventilation.
The Swimming Gym of the Sports Center creates with full efforts an international first-class swimming gym with its gym facilities at the Olympic level, meticulous and considerate supporting services and the biological water treatment system leading in the world.
